Mother's Day is May 11th! Our photo products make great gifts. Order by April 25th for delivery by the holiday.

I would like to place an order over the phone. Can I call you with questions or to order?

Of course! Just give us a call during our regular business hours and we will be glad to help you over the phone. You can also pay with a credit card over the phone. Our phone number is 1.206.789.4044. We are a small company, so we don't have a large phone operation, but we strive to give you the best customer service possible!

How long does it take for me to receive my order once I place it?

Most of our products are custom made once an order is received. For bags, belts and custom photo products, allow one month for delivery, depending on our production schedule. If you would like to get a turnaround estimate from us before placing an order, feel free to contact us and we will reply within 48 hours.

Goodie boxes and gift certificates ship within 1-2 weeks.

We ship from Seattle via USPS Priority Mail, which takes between 2-4 days when shipped to a US address.

I received a gift card and I would like to order from your website. How do I place my order?

We have two types of gift cards, each with their own redemption process:
1.) Web issued gift certificates: These certificates have identification numbers that are 8 digits or longer. To redeem these certificates, check the web certificate option as your payment method. The shopping cart will prompt to to complete your order.

2.) Store issued gift certificates: These certificates were issued in our retail store and are not linked to our website database. You can tell you have this type of gift certificate if the identification number is only four digits. To redeem these certificates, check the store certificate option when you check out. Then note the certificate number and amount in the customer notes when you check out. We will contact you via email if you have a balance due.

How often do you add new items to your website?

We constantly update and add to the website. Look for new fabric swatches, bag designs, and news each month.

How are your purses made?

We hand cut fabrics, lining and interfacing using designer Laura Buzard's original patterns. We sew the purses with an eye toward durability on our high-end Pfaff sewing machines. We do some hand finishing, including applying vintage buttons. Each bag is made from scratch beginning to end.

Where do you get all of your fabrics and materials?

We buy my materials through many sources - wholesale, retail, through interior designers, and from vintage textile dealers. Much of our time is spent searching for fabrics that are truly special and that capture a certain look, or have a stunning color palette.

You mention that you use faux leather in some of your items? What is it? Why don't you use leather?

We don't use leather because our mission is to create handbags that offer fun, durable alternatives to standard leather bags. Since Laura is a vegetarian, she founded the business with a cruelty-free approach.

We use Naugahyde™, which is the industry standard upholstery vinyl/synthetic leather. Made in the USA, our vinyl is super soft, supple, and comes in beautiful colors. You might recognize sparkly Naugahyde™ from carnival ride and diner seats from the 1950s till now.

You can clean our faux leather with a damp cloth, or with Pledge. It is designed for commercial use, so resists even the heaviest wear and tear, making it perfect for handbags!

What is Microsuede?

We use an upholstery-grade microsuede that is soft to the touch but durable. It is made from a polyester microfiber, and is animal-free. Our microsuede can be surface cleaned and does not spot or become damaged by water or rain.

How can I clean my LBD product?

We suggest having your bag professionally drycleaned. Be sure to tell your cleaner that we use vinyl and faux suede, not leather. To spot clean your bag, use a surface textile cleaner such as Shout Wipes or Gonzo.

Can you rush an order for me? I want to get something for a birthday/holiday more quickly than your usual turnaround.

We have been working hard to reduce our lead times, and we can sometimes accept rush orders depending on our production schedule and the item you would like to order. Please do not hesitate to email us to check on our lead time for a particular item before you order to see if it can be rushed. We will give you an honest answer. Would you make a purse out of fabric that I would send you?

Of course! We can make purses out of nearly any fabric, including cloth cut from clothing. When fabrics are delicate, we reinforce them for durability. Contact us to arrange for us to work with your provided material.

Do you make purses for brides and bridesmaids?

Yes! What better way to get add a special touch to your wedding attire. You can order any of the designs seen on this site. You might want to send the fabric of your choice to us so that it coordinates perfectly with your dress. Or you can describe what you have in mind to us and we can design your bag together. Don't forget your maids! Consider buying custom purses for your entire bridal party.

Where can I see your purses in person?

If you are in Seattle you can visit our Studio/Boutique in Ballard, where we sell our bags and handmade items by other creative folks. Visit the Our Studio & Store page to learn about the shop, and about the other stores that carry Laura Bee handbags.

Do you sell your products wholesale?

Yes! While we are primarily a retail business, we do sell our products wholesale to select accounts. We have had success with many of our products in other stores including bags, wallets, bubble jewelry, belts, wristlets and hair accessories. We also offer a professional photographer resale program for some of our photo products.

Do you do bulk orders for corporations, non-profits, or special events?

Yes, Laura Bee Designs specializes in short run custom projects. Our photo products are particularly popular for customizing with logos, photos, or artwork. Just email us with details, and we'll be happy to create a proposal for your review.

Can I host a Purse Party at your studio?

Yes, you can sign up to host your own event at our studio. Our team of stylists will work with you and your friends to design your own custom bags. You'll have the whole place to yourself as you look through our fabrics, trims, and buttons. Read more about purse parties here for more information.

How do you choose the other things you sell on your site and in your store?

We carefully select interesting finds that we love. Some items are handmade, and others have something special (color, function, fun) that makes them perfect for our store.
